Author interview with Jes Cleland
STINK BUGS. Do you have them where you live? Well, it turns out when author Jes Cleland moved to Nashville, she had her first encounter with these insects, which she said eventually led her to “naming them in an effort to ease my fear of them.” From there, a silly song was born about trying to get them out of her house, which led to a singable book…and the rest is history!
In this interview, Jes, a music educator and founder of Music U, tells Singable Book Club members all about the origin story of her singable book, “Get Out, Beetle”, as well as the brainstorming, development, publishing and illustrating process that she experienced to be able to have it available for you to use with your child, students, therapy sessions, library story hours, music classes, and more!
